Hair Growth Supplements
Evidence-based reviews of supplements formulated to reduce hair loss, strengthen follicles, and support healthy hair growth from within.
What to Know About Hair Growth Supplements
Hair growth supplements are formulated to address the underlying causes of hair thinning and loss – from DHT sensitivity to nutritional gaps. Our reviews focus on formula logic, ingredient evidence, and whether the product matches the type of hair loss it targets.
Instead of relying on before-and-after imagery, we analyze how each formula aligns with common causes of hair shedding and follicle decline, and whether the ingredient stack is dosed to produce a real effect.

DHT vs. Nutrition
Androgenetic alopecia (male pattern baldness) is DHT-driven – the right supplement needs Saw Palmetto, Pumpkin Seed, or both. Hair loss from nutritional deficiency responds to Biotin, Zinc, and Iron. Confusing the cause leads to choosing the wrong product.
Growth vs. Color Retention
Most hair supplements target growth and shedding. Profolan specifically addresses color retention via Copper and high-dose Biotin – relevant for men dealing with premature greying alongside thinning. If greying is part of the concern, Profolan is the more targeted choice.
Minimum 3-Month Commitment
Hair cycle changes are slow. Meaningful results – visible density improvement, reduced shedding – require at least 3 months of consistent daily use. The EVNolMax tocotrienol study showing 34.5% hair count increase ran for 8 months.
Men-Specific vs. Women-Specific
Folisin, Profolan, and Folicerin are formulated for men. Locerin is the women-specific option. DHT-inhibiting compounds interact with testosterone metabolism in ways not appropriate for women – choosing the right formula by biological profile matters.
